IMG_0038.jpgIMG_0037.jpgLast winter I loved having my 3 pt mounted snow blower, but at times if the snow was real wet I found myself relying on the front loader to clear it. After some plasma cutting and welding I solved that problem with an additional front mounted blade that drops in place of my pallet forks. I tested it out the other day on over a foot of snow and could not be more happy with my new addition.

That blade is a great tool to have.

Pardon my ignorance but I have only used very large snow blowers but why did you use the blade? That looks like a very nice blower and should blow slush.

It feels like a beast when the blower is going. I still have some more work to do on the plow mount, but I'm happy with how solid it is especially since I threw it together in a rush one day before the snow storm. I had the plow sitting around for several years doing nothing but collecting dust so its nice to finally see some use from it. It works so nice on this tractor that I kinda kick myself I didn't do this way sooner.

Creamer I added the plow to the front because I already had it just sitting around and also when I plow for my neighbors etc. I worry about hitting parked cars with snow on occasion. You are right though this blower throws everything it gets a hold of. Last year because of how aggressive the blower is I found myself using the front loader equally with the rear blower. Now I have 2 choices depending on the conditions.

Thanks Thomas, this turned out to be one of those projects that really paid off more than I ever expected. I love how it simply drops in place of my pallet forks and can be lifted off just as quick allowing me to throw the pallet forks back on if wanted in a pinch. With a little more work and painting to the support plate when time and weather allows I will be set for many winters to come.
