I'm studying my operators manual, unfortunately I don't have the tractor in front of me.

Some quick ?s

Why do I have an accelerator lever, I don't see the point since I have a gas pedal, maybe it has something to do with running an implement?

Also let's assume the tractor hasn't been used in many years ( I was told 20 )

What would you guys do for maintenance? Where can I get a list of items I should purchase to do a general tune up/fluid change?

Specific types?

I need the correct battery, don't know correct #

I'd change the air cleaner ect.

I need to check out a website someone suggested here for parts.

Says in operators manual to start set the accelerator lever in the high position?

Makes no sense to me to start any vehicle at full rpm upon start up?

If it is a hydro your gas peddle controls your ground speed. Your throttle sets the governor which maintains desired engine rpm.

Whatever battery fits should be fine.

Local Kubota dealer should have all the information on fluids & filters.

I used the hand throttle on my B6100 DT in two situations - both having to do with setting PTO speed rather than driving speed.
1) When running my post hole digger (PHD)
2) When running my rototiller, I set the hand throttle at the best combination of speed for the tiller and groundspeed of the tractor.
I would think that the hand throttle would come in handy if running a mower also.
Think of it as a cruise control.

I had a Maintenance Manual for my B6100DT but I'm pretty sure I recall basic oil change and lube intervals and instructions in my Operators Manual too.

My father-in-law gave me the tractor in 1999. He bought it new in 1972. He was a retired Navy MCPO SeaBee Equipment Operator so he was **** about maintenance. It was like new except for the faded paint from sitting out in the California Sun all those years.
