B3030
I run a private horse ranch. We have a b3030 that we use for basic stuff around the property.

The other day I was going a little too fast over some rough ground and gave the tractor a good bounce. Nothing real bad, but enough to get my attention.

Right after that, if I depress the 'forward' pedal more than about 2/3, the tractor just shuts down. There is no smoke, no sputtering, just shuts down like I had turned the key off. It does this at any throttle position and does not do it in reverse. If you are quick to let the pedal back up, the tractor will light back up and keep going, otherwise you have to restart it with the key and get back at it.

I was going to run it up to the local repair shop, but they are 2 weeks out and we run this little tractor every day.

Any ideas what may have happened?

Thanks in advance,
Russ

Look at the pedal linkage, see if it touches anything at the 2/3 point. Did a wire near the linkage get smashed?

That's a weird one but I agree with Sodo... and start by looking at the pedal linkage under the floor board. And curious... when you say 2/3rds... are you talking about pedal travel or RPM? How many hours on it? Another possibility is fuel flow. Maybe fuel filter?

I'm wondering if the jolt just put the finishing touch on a loose nut. Check to see if it looks like any nuts are missing; I was also wondering if you did anything to the safety switch on the seat when you came back to earth.
Good luck.

I'm with Stanton's idea. On a fairly new Kubota I had one of those "pins" ( can't think of the right name) simply fall out that secured the linkage to the throttle. Fortunately It fell on the concrete garage floor after parking.
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks for the pointers.

To answer the question above, this happens at any throttle (RPM) position.

I'll take a look at the linkages and that switch under the seat.

Thanks again,
Russ

Okay, correction.....this happened three years ago......

The part is called a "roll pin"...........and it was not the HST pedal linkage....It was the 3pt linkage..

But you've got the idea.

My guess would be the safety switch on the HST pedal. It has moved or been damaged with the hard bump.

I would bet money you bounced the seat in a way that messed up its safety switch. I would focus on that to start, rather than the pedal.
