I was in desperate need of a lawn tractor and didn't want to spend a ton. I ran all over town and had pretty much decided on bitting the bullet and dropping $2,000 to $2,500 on a JD or cheap out and get a Craftsman for $1,300 to $1,500. I stopped at Lowes and saw a string of tractors out in the fire lane. All hevily discounted. They all said "Repaired" I saw one Cub Cadet 1050 with the mulch kit. I started it up. The hour meeter said .1. Not "1" but".1"...six minutes of run time. There was no grass anywhere,. I lifted the deck, checked everything. This mower had never cut a blade of grass. I talked to the sales guy that said these mowers were returned for defect and repaired by Lowes. They no longer were new and only had a 1 year warranty instead of 2. I asked to see what was repaired. He couldn't find anything. We looked everywhere and both came to the conclusion, it was a new mower...so he gave me the original 2 year warranty and sold it to me for....drum role please $980. Discounted from something over $2,000. I just cut my lawn with it and I'm just thrilled. when I alsed for further explanation of the discount he said that sometimes they just have too many and if they block the fire lane they discount them to get rid of them.
