Hello.
I have a Kubota L3240HST that I purchased in 2007. It has approx. 560 hours on it. I have had zero issues with this tractor until, possibly, now.
Yesterday, after doing some plowing, when I parked the tractor my wife noticed a small drip of fluid coming out of the bottom.
I crawled underneath the tractor and noticed an unusual looking fitting that was leaking a small amount of what appeared to be oil. I had no clue what this fitting was so I turned to the manual. The fitting is ssomething called a 'split pin plug' and is located under the clutch housing. It is designed to drain any water from the housing.
Well, this is all well and good however there are two problems:
1) It has been dry as a bone for the past couple weeks. I don't see how any water could have gotten into the clutch housing.
2) The fluid leaking out seems to be oily.
So, my question is, how concerned should I be? To the best of my knowledge I have never seen anything come out of this fitting before and I have had the tractor in some very wet situations.
I will include some links to a few pictures of the fitting in question. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
