The FEL sometimes works great, other times not so much. Will get a scoop of sand, and at times it lifts it right up. Other times I have to 'pump' the lever to get it to move a bit. Also, at times, when it isn't acting right, I'll back away from the pile, and either at stop or start moving forward, I can then raise the bucket. Also, at times, the bucket curl seems to be weak but the lift is strong. Other times it's the other way around. So, is it a tired pump? Time for new 'O' rings in the valve control body?

Moist heavy sand can exceed the breakout force of the loader, especially if its had time to settle. I've had it happen to me as well where I've had to back off a bit to be able to curl and lift out of the pile. It might well not be anything wrong with your rig, just exceeding its capacity.

If you would install a pressure gage in the input line to the valve, you could diagnose your problems. If you put QD's at critical locations, then you will have a better understanding of your hyd system.

Will do that gauge check. Good idea. This issue appears with an empty bucket! Although, there are times when it can be full of grit and it'll raise right up! Will check pressures as suggested....
