Buried my Iseki in a beaver pond. No one could get their Kubota's and Belarus' near it to pull it out. Had to hire a skidder. Such is how it goes when one owns the most go anywhere tractor on the block and finally finds a spot it won't go itself out of. Beavers one, Iseki four in the winning each encounter count. Lost my grill and flooded my clutch and had to drain it. Still worth it, I hate them critters and not being able to access my back half of my place.

Pictures would have been a good thing, too bad you got that stuck. It is amasing how far down a tractor can sink. All that ground clearance allows it to settle deeper into the mud of soft ground.

Hope the tractor comes out without any complications all that grit in seals and joints doesn't help them any.

What were you doing with it when it got stuck?

Helloo all,
I am back from the family va-ka to Gettysburg. The tractor was NOT stuck ripping out beaver dams, I can tell you that, that would be illegal.

Here is how to get unstuck...

place a 6" log horizontally at axle height against the rear tire. The log should be sticking out about 12" further that the edge of the tire, on each side.

loop a chain around the log and through the wheel.

back up in your slowest gear.

The turning tired will twist the chain, tighening the chain on the log, binding the log against the tire, which will then revolve the log and act as a 12" stilt.

I have never seen a tractor stuck bad enough (and still be able to see the center of the rear tire) than could not unstick itself with this method.

Just be very careful with that method, make sure someone else is around and only use it as a last resort.

It does work, I have seen it done before, but it also possible to cause a serious accident.

It can cause the front end to fly up in the air and without a roll bar,

or worse.

I should have put the words "back up" in CAPS!

By backing up, you push the front of the tractor down. Wear your seat belt, it will feel like backing over a 12" log =]

I have only attempted this once going forward, due to circumstances. In that case, we also added a chain from the front of the tractor to the tow hitch of a full sized pickup.

Like California and Grrrr state, this is a last resort and should only be used in company and in situations where you cannot get a tow vehicle in position.

Always wear your seat belt with a ROPS. Never wear your seatbelt on a tractor without a ROPS (not my idea of a safe ride).

Them little rice tires and the fenders didn't leave much room to do that. Works better on big ol' american steel.
