I saw in a post a couple weeks ago where someone called him "Soundboy" /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Soundman, Soundboy, Soundguy...
I think I'll stick with Chris! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

While we're trying to change his name, I'm going to take this opportunity to nominate him as the next "TBN All-Star". His old tractor knowledge is phenomenal, and his advice in general has helped almost everyone here at one time or another.

Do I have a second on the motion? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

YEAH...I will cheerfully second your motion to nominate Soundman, er, Soundboy, oops, SOUNDGUY for all star membership.

And I'm sure he has been called a lot worse than the above names by the dummies who don't appreciate his wisdom and the contributions he makes to TBN.

THANKS CHRIS !!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I got a kick out of that one.. I think I became my own side kick. ( the adventures of...soundguy and soundboy.. or something like that!

I answer to many names.. just ask my wife.. especially when I come in with muddy boots ...

Yep.. south Fl got hammered. I brought my chickens and turkey into the barn to keep flying debri from hitting them thru their wire pens. I hear there are still many thousands without power down south.. and may be that way for days / weeks... yikes.. I feel for those people.

You guys gonna make my head swell.. and I'll have to go buy new hats. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the kind words.

Like I told andym .. I answer to ( and for ) a lot of things from the wife!

Good to see all of you. There for a few days I was so busy around the farm, cleaning up from the weather I had little time to post.

I think this weekend I'm going to pull one of my 8n's into the garage and drop the hydro pump/ bottom cover, and the top cover and rebuild the lift cylinder, reseal the pump, and replace some valving. Should be like a new machine after that. She got a rebuilt carb, and new wire harness and some new ignition parts a few weeks ago.

I ronically I damaged her while cleaning up from the storm. I had a 30" rear scoop full of clay and dirt and was toting it around to fill in washouts along the fence. My last load was a bit too much for the 52 year old hydraulics, and I blew out the bottom gasket. She limped home, and I could simply drop the pump and reseal the bottom.. but I figure while in there i might as well 'do it right'. In any case... all the parts oil, gaskets and new piston / relief valve came to just a tad under a nundred bucks.. which isn't bad. Now I just need to add the elbow grease. Hope all the parts come in by friday, so I can start tearing it down. My plan is to have it done sunday night... hope it cooperates!

later guys!

You make it sound so easy, like "drop the hydro pump/ bottom cover, and the top cover and rebuild the lift cylinder, reseal the pump, and replace some valving" then I'll have a glass of water and maybe eat a sandwitch.

Sometimes I get lucky and it is that easy.. other times I will work for 2 hours getting a single bolt unstuck... go figure.

Yep if you have 6 bolts to remove, 5 will come out nicely /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
