Spacer / reducer from 1" to 3/4" question

I would think that it depends on the application whether brass would be stong enough. I replaced a wood-splitter cylinder and faced the same problem. Used a piece of copper type "k" pipe to get back in service. Two years later its still working fine...
(The splitter only splits 3-4 bush cord/year)...
