Tractor
Kubota RTV 1100c, JD 740,Kioti DK 40 with KL401 loader .
I was brush hogging on the back side of my cabin property and speared the front tire(R4) on a old fence post on my new Kioti tractor(48 hrs).I limped it back to my trailer and carefully loaded it.The nearest tractor tire store was 40 miles away,of course the tire had to be replaced.I guess it could have been worse and popped one of the rear filled tires.

You are not alone. I have had my share of calamaties in the first 150 hours or so. I would have to venture a guess that most of the bad things seem to happen when the tractor is fairly new. Kinda like a motorcycle. After that, you become "paranoid". That's from experience. It's interesting to hear from others that it has happened to them, also.

because a tire store never wants to sell a $10 tube instead of a $75 new tire.

the tire size is 10X16.5 and the price started at $136 but after some haggling(LOL) ended up $100 mounted.coobie

i wondered about that......i change most of mine own tires and a tube is one of the best kept secrets from the radial world........and, tubes can easily be patched......

but, sometimes the hole is large.......but a large, maybe even several layer, quality patch will work on that too.....then put a tube in it......

The hole in the tire was good size and also caught a small part of the sidewall.I doubt patching it would have helped.coobie

Dang...that ain't bad, I got a front flat on my DK55 a month or so ago and it was 135 to patch it and load it with water and anti-freeze. I had to bring them the tire.

In fact, one of my motorcycle tires is $100 just to buy the tire, so you done alright.

I already had the tractor on my trailer so I just put some down pressure on the FEL and lifted the front end up so the guy could change the tire right on the trailer.
