I have a 4120. Right now, I really only need to remove and replace an LX6 so i can hook up my manure spreader. I guess I may want to hook up my ballast box as well.

I was going to go with the iMatch QH, except non can be had locally since all the nearby dealers are out of stock.

The speeco looks nice, I think the adjustable top position looks like an advantage over the Deere unit, and i found 1 locally at TSC.

My questions are:
Will the speeco unit hook to these two items with no modifications?
What else will I need to hook up the ballast box and the LX6? I suspect the QH only comes with enough adapters for one implement?

Any thoughts appreciated.

John

With the LX6 and ballast box, both are QH compatible, which means you only need bushings to fit the QH. The top link needs to be bushed to Cat2 and the bottom links to Cat3. I have outfitted all my implements with the Cat1 QH bushing available at TSC or Bomgaars (in my area). They simply pin onto the lower pins and have a nice large diameter at the outside end to ensure that you line up properly. The adjustable top link location may be helpful on non-Deere implements.
I have the iMatch and have never had a need for it. BTW, you will also need to pick up a bushing for the top pin. I think the total cost for all the bushings for each implement runs me about $24, but well worth it!

I'm using the Speeco, IMO, the adjustable top link is a big advantage over the I-match. You should not have to make any major mods to use the Speeco. Good Luck!

I was in TSC the other day and picked up a SpeeCo QuickHitch. After getting it home and installing it on my tractor, and installing the bushings that came with it on my boxblade, I figured out that I needed more bushings for my other implements. I went back to TSC ... they didn't have a complete bushing kit .... but they did have singles of the large, shouldered Cat1->Cat3 lower link bushings ...... for $22 each !!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I can't believe the price is right .... $22 for a single bushing ?

I am just using a cat1>cat2 bushing and then a cat2>cat3 bushing over that. I get them from TSC. The larger bushing has a hole in it for a pin. I can't remember the prices, but they are a lot cheaper. I thought the shouldered ones were $22 for the pair. I don't know if my method is really approved, but I am using it with all my implements (except rear blade), and have had no problems of any kind. Just a thought. Jason

Jason,

Thanks - I did similar with multiple bushings on my Woods boxblade - it uses captured pins (double flanges that the lower link pin fits through) but I need another Cat1 --> Cat3 bushing kit for some other implements that don't have the captured pins .... I will recheck the p/n at TSC and see if the clerk made a mistake about the price being per bushing.

SpeeCo has the right bushing kit for the lower pins, but they don't seem to want to stock them (strange). I finally pestered our Farm/Fleet store to stock them, so finally they ordered the Cat I-Cat III pins and priced them at $12.95. I bought two sets. There was one set remaining, and it is gone with no replacements for the last 6 months. Go figure. The SpeeCo quick hitch is sitting right there, with one set, but they won't stock the needed items to add to other attachments. Strange.
Maybe the price has jumped to $22 in the last six months, which doesn't seem right. I don't think the hitch jumped
accordingly.
The SpeeCo part number is H141144.

The shouldered pins were $22 a pair at TSC around here. My Deere dealer put standard slip bushing on some of my attachments when I got them. While they work ok, one side would always be only 1/2 on the bushing. I like the shouldered pins as I don't have to be quite as exact with my hookup. Get the toplink hooked and lower pin alignment is not an issue.

And the other reason I like them: Have you ever walked into the end of the lower pin? Right on the shin! At least the shouldered bushings spread the pain across a wider part of my shin. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
