Looking for suggestions.

I have a 1974 MF175 diesel.

The pto clutch isn't working anymore. The engine portion is working. I can push the pedal all the way to the floor plate but the pto doesn't disengage anymore.
I'm guessing it's time to split the tractor and replace the clutch. Splitting it is beyond my mechanical abilities so time to call a mechanic.

What else should I have the mechanic replace if I'm already paying someone to split it?
Everything else mechanically seems to be in working order. But, thought there might be some preventative stuff that should be done while it's split.

Thanks

You should check pedal and check clearance for the PTO clutch before you splitt

Yes, certainly determine what is wrong before starting this sort of job.
If the clutch won't drive - its friction plate is worn, its pressure plate is faulty, or it is out of adjustment.
However, if the clutch won't release ... pedal adjustment, or second release setting, is usually the only fault to cause this issue. It can be adjusted from the outside.

This thread may help: Read from Post #23 to the end ... 2nd clutch release is the issue here.
