Some spoofers are so dumb ... I get caller IDs that say "Not In Service" and at least once lately got a CID that listed the number/line I answered on.
As for the Do Not Call
List 'not working' ... coincidentally, my shopping
list doesn't pick up and deliver my groceries.
When I 'Google' a number (all toll frees and those I wasn't
expecting so 99%) I get a chuckle at folks who post on caller complaint sites (800 notes, etc) and say "please stop calling me" .. like scammers are checking in there too after getting their number from the DNC database.
Activating/using your voicemail at least assures a scammer that your number is legit and can be sold to the others. I thought texting was a way to avoid that, but have learned that it's really to stretch an otherwise 30 second call into 10 min of back & forth with both parties getting the last word so as to 'not seem rude. wow ...
Just give me a call sometime.
