I am trying to hook up my new electric sprayer to my BX-2200. It needs 7 amps at 12VDC. I just found a live wire under the seat while fishing around for where to home-run a new one. It is red, and I have attached a picture (wheee!) to illustrate.

Could anyone comfort me that this connection can provide enough juice for the sprayer? I also will be using it on my Bass Hound boat, so I have rigged a trolling motor connector to it (pond weed spraying /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif).

One BIG question--has Bird realized I now have a Kubota? Not sure I broke that news to him...at least he's too nice a guy to gloat!

Thanks as always to whomever can help!

Jim

There is a thread that talks about the different wires under the seat and under the hood. It has been a few months since it was posted. I also plan to attach a sprayer to my bx2200 but I am going to run a wire directly from the battery with a waterproof 12 v connect under the seat and a fuse at the battery. I was told by my dealer not connect to any wire connection on the bx until the warrenty is up because it my void the warrenty. The sprayer is going to pull 7amps and the circuit that the connector you are pointing out is also pulling amps be careful that if you connect that you do over load it.

Hey guys. I have wired my 2 off road lights (which I use to illuminate the area while I'm removing snow and mowing at night). They draw 7 amps each (14 amps total). The wire under the seat is the wire the dealer pointed out to me to use. I made a nice connection and FUSED the line right there with a 20 amp fuse. Then I mounted a switch box on the lower section of the ROPS to control the lights (2 switches). The lights are mounted on the top of my ROPS.
It all worked very well for me. Don't know what the warranty ramifications are but that line is to be used as an Accessory line.
See the attached photo.

It might be safer to save that circuit for a work lamp and add another circuit for your sprayer. Using a relay intended for off road lighting (water proof and plenty of amp capacity) build a second circuit. Run the switch wire which does not draw much current to a convienent place and then pull the high amperage straight from the battery via the relay to the sprayer motor. J

Jim, I would assume (is that safe) that the connector is for the optional worklights, as the other guys mentioned. And if it's like the B2710 (and I'm not familiar enough with the BX to know for sure), then it's already fused and only "hot" when the key is on. If so, and IF you don't hook up anything else to that circuit, then I'd use it for the sprayer. When I had the B7100, I never knew or thought about whether it had a wire like that for a work light, so I ran a separate wire from the battery, with an inline fuse, to a toggle switch I mounted on the fender to run a 12 volt sprayer. Seems to me either way should work.

Congratulations on getting a tractor the right color./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I just looked at the electrical schematic for the BX. These wires are labeled as "working lights" on the schematic and it appears that they are on their own 20 amp circuit breaker.
I use these wires to run a sprayer. I put mating connectors on the wires from the sprayer and just plug-in when I want to use it. I also included a properly sized inline fuse (I think 10 or 15 amp) in the wires from the sprayer.

I also installed a quick connect on the line and can use it for the additional lights or other accessories.

Lots of folks like the pto pump type sprayers.
25 gallon or 50 gallon tanks
More pressure and less electric issues.
The hand held wands and hd foudation frame make attach and detach and storage pretty easy.

Best wishes.
