Sprayer Sprayer not working

I used my sprayer for the first time yesterday, 55 gallon 6 roller pump. Worked fine until I was almost done. Had about 2-3 gallons left in the tank and it lost pressure, now I can't get it to work. I cleaned out the strainer (a lot of plastic shavings). Can the pump be broken? It didn't run dry. Is there an easy way to tell if it's the pump? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
