Sprayer type

My old boom sprayer finally bit the dust. I have been holding it together with temp fixes for years and decided now is the time for a fresh start. Went looking today and found two types. One is the folding arms boom like I have now and the other type features a very short bar with nozzles that spray out over a 25 to 40 foot range. The boom I liked was 15 feet. I would love some opinions on choosing a type of sprayer. The 25' side spray model is appealing, but there must be a catch somewhere?? Thoughts?? Thanks
