Hi Kuborange,

It runs off of a small gasoline engine and is a self contained trailer unit that you pull behind.

Try doing a web search for their webpage. If that doesn't help, I will be heading up North at the end of the week, and will give you more of the particulars then.

( How big of a sprayer are you hoping to build?

Do you need a boom, or a hand sprayer or both?

Northern Hydraulics has a nice 50 gallon unit with a boom and hand sprayer all ready to go. It has a roller pump.

If this is a good size for you, you may want to check it out.

Thanks for the info dave.

I dont have a big acreage. I only need something in the size of a 23-30 liter with a 5-6' boom. A hand sprayer would be nice. I was thinking that I could build a sprayer cheaper then buying a new one. The issue that I have is finding a 12v pump.

If anyone has some websites for the pump pls let me know.

Thanks,

Jeff

While all the posts have been correct in what they said there are more things to consider when making the initial decisions about a sprayer... Like What you are going to spray..... Most ag chemicals are supposed to be sprayed at low pressures to keep drift to a minimum.. like 15 lbs of pressure .. so if you have a boom you need volume.... I got a 6 roller pump only to find out I could not use Roundup in it.... so I am back to using my all brass gear Contential Belton.. but it really is more for higher pressures than what one should use for many ag sprays... due to the changes in flow characteristics due to changes in pressure from most normal spray tips you need to decide what tips you are going to use before you choose your pump.......
So it takes a lot of reading to get what you need put together... Hypro makes a good catalog with great info for making ... also the TEEJET catalog is great... I got both from Tractor Supply Company... I also got one of the 12 volt 25 gallon sprayers... and they are great for small hand held spraying... I have 4000 feet of fence I keep the weeds knocked down on.. BUT the flow rates they list are not for the max pressures they list... they are for NO pressure... so it does not come out very fast when you are using a hand wand ..... but most people don't spray as much as I do.. I use roundup around all our tree bases instead of a weekwhacker...

LeathermanG are you the same fella from The yahoo group?
What kind of pump is your sprayer pump, the six roller. Is it a TSC and will round up damage it or will it over drift it. Take care Taylor Lambert

Chris one thing to can do to save on a or make a pressure reulator is to get a Plumbing cross what ever size your hose is and run one line from the output on the pump, then put a valve and returnline one one side. Then take one lege and put your hand held line on it. on the last side put your gauge and that will tell you your pressure. To increasse or decrease pressure all you have to do is open or close the valve.
