Have a home tucked in the woods with about 100ft of lawn between the house and trees. Mosquitoes have been bad over the years but ticks have been worse. Have to check dogs everytime they come back in. I have a backpack pump sprayer but looking to invest in something larger min 30 gal size. Something that could be towed or set on the quad. Looking for advice, boom or boom less? Best brands? What's out there decent quality for $3-$400?

I too am looking for a sprayer. Ruled out the TSC cause of terrible reviews. Now looking at nortern 21 gal sprayer.

STIHL SR 200 is a backpack sprayer. You can shoot into the woods 50 to 60 feet. It's more work than driving around. You'll need safety gear. What were you planning to spray for Mosquitoes and ticks?

I have a Demco sprayer. Have used for 30+ years now and only had to replace the rollers in the pump once. At times I use some pretty aggressive & corrosive chemicals. They make all types - 3-point, tow behind, boom & wand.

Mine is a 3-point, pto driven pump with a hand held wand on 25 feet of hose & 25 gallon chemical tank. The wife would drive the tractor - I would walk behind spraying weeds - mainly Canadian thistle.

You will be spraying the lawn so I would look at a boom type. Adjust the most outward spray so it sprays up & out. That way when you are at the outer edge of the lawn it will also spray out into the pucker weeds somewhat.

It was purchased so long ago I don't remember the exact cost but would guess around $350-$375.

I use SMV trailer sprayer. It holds 25 gal. Has a 10ft. boom and a hand sprayer that can shoot 40-50ft.

Mine is a 55 gallon tow behind with a 3.5 HP gasoline engine. Originally it was purchased to spray cedar trees for bag worms, since it would reach about 30 feet high with the wand, but it also has a boom that will do chemicals be they fertilizer or RoundUp etc. It has a four roller "Silvercast" Hypro pump. .... bought the rig about 20 years ago for about $900 bucks. The company is now out of business, but other sources are available.

The rig has given good service with some maintenance. The original pump had to be replaced since it wasn't RoundUp compatible.

Used permethrin last year...seemed to reduce the mosquitoes and ticks.
