Has anyone tried to spead aged Alpaca Manure using a 3 point broadcast spreader?

Ordered a 650 lb spreader without thinking about the size of the Alpaca droppings.

Respects,

Richard

My cone spreader will only broadcast seed, fertilizer and granulated lime. It won't spread Ag lime if it is damp or lumpy.
I would guess that any manure would have hay or straw and be damp too.
I don't think it will work.

There are lots of small manure spreaders on the market that could store it until full then spread on pasture or garden.

Just my opinion :D

I assume the problem is with clumping at the bottom opening. I further assume your spreader did not come with an agitator extension. That's the first thing I'd investigate: a source for an extension that's compatible with your lower agitator. Mine looked like this. It bolts directly to the lower agitator. It should be held straight up as you load the droppings into the cone, that relieves stress on the connection when the PTO is first engaged. After that, centrifugal force and gravity eventually positions it so that the rubber wheel is running around the inside of the cone.

The other thing you probably already know, the manure pile should be completely dry before transferring it to a conical spreader.
