Spreader or sprayer?

   / Spreader or sprayer? #21
Granular fertilizer (in my area) is more expensive than liquid. But I still use it, as I get better results with the granular fertilizer. (5 acres of lawn). But I go to a yard and landscape store (or a farm store) rather than the big box guys.

I also have a 55 gal sprayer that I use for weed control, pre-emergent, insecticides, and I even use it for termite treatments for the house. Saves me $100's a year because the liquid chemicals are far cheaper and better results than granular "weed & feed" type fertilizers.

If you're using an ATV you can get by with a tow behind sprayer (boom is better IMO than boomless, but either will work). There are several chemical companies online that are cheaper than the box stores & even Amazon, and I've had excellent results using their stuff. Mainly I use the generic rather than the brand names...ie Bi-Fen instead of "Talstar" for termites, ants, army worms, grubs. 1 app handles them all.

Here some links to the websites. One place will not always be the cheapest, so shop it around if you decide to use liquid.
