I ended up buying a Landpride FSP 500 spreader for my 3 acre lot. It has a poly hopper with all stainless steel vanes. I hope it lasts a long time. I will be using it in the spring to see how it performs.

If that unit side drops the material like the landpride fs series, its difficult to get a balanced swath!
