YAY!!! SPRING BREAK A WHOLE 10 DAYS OFF OF SCHOOL!!! THANK GOD BECAUSE I NEED A BREAK! TOO BAD I STILL HAVE TRACK PRACTICE, A TRACK MEET, AND CHEERLEADING /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif BUT NO SCHOOL!!!!
Even at my age, I can still remember Spring Break time. In my youth and my part of the country, that was crappie fishing time! But my grandson, next door, is looking forward to a ski trip with the church youth group. From your post, I'm sure you're going to enjoy your Spring Break. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Enjoy your break! My son finished his spring break from college last week, there is nothing edible left in the house now /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif!
I went to college in Daytona Beach (Embry-Riddle Aero. Univ.).
So for five years, I did not need to go away for spring break. It came to me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Bird, not getting personal, but I am feeling pretty bad. When you said that even at my age, I can still remember Spring Break time, I really started feeling sorry for myself. I was out of school before they ever started having a spring break!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I do not remember spring break either and I am guessing that bird has a couple of years on me.
However there may have been spring break back then, however some of us were working our way through college and could not afford the time off and worked more than the 40 hours a week when we had the free time, that or caught up our sleep.
Thats a real woman... spending time off posting on TBN! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Although it hasn't been that long since I was in your shoes enjoying spring break.. a lot has changed since then. Instead of being down on the beach acting like a fool I have spent this week working about 60 hours. Ugghhh! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I guess I'm pretty lucky where I live. One of the biggest spring break party towns (South Padre Island) isn't more than a half a days drive and within an hour or so there is Galveston and Crystal Beach where there is plenty of fun to be had. Ahhhh... the good old days. Back before I had a house note, truck note, etc! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
We didn't have spring break at my school. But the school was out for the summer before Memorial Day. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Our trip out west is to spend Spring Break with oldest son and his family during their Spring Break. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
He and his wife work for the school system. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Grandkids go to same schools. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Now you fellows make me start to wonder about my old memory and whether we actually had "spring break" when I was in school. I know a buddy and I did play hooky one day to go crappie fishing; wouldn't have let my parents know if it hadn't been for the fine stringer of fish I had to take home. And when my job sent me to Northwestern University for the '71-'72 school year, several of us took our families to Kentucky fishing on spring break that year.

With the ground still covered in white, it's hard to get in the Spring Break frame of mind around here /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I did have a dream last night that all of the bulbs I planted last fall came up and looked beautiful in bloom!! I hope it comes true!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
None -yet. Until then FunBuggy (EZ-Go) will have to do!

Dave,
You and I must have gone to the same school! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
My spring break meant working full time at my part time job during the break. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
However, it also meant that it was probably the first chance of the season to get out and chase the little white ball around! Although occasionally we needed to use orange balls so that we could find them in the snow banks! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Hey Ron, I spent a couple of spring breaks in Galveston..we might have crossed paths if you were anywhere near there around '75. Course that time was sort of a blur /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Man... I don't want to make you feel old... but it was nearly 20 years later when I was there! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
As stated before, didn't get a spring break. Not wanting to disclose any ages, but we did take a three day week end and went to Kansas City to see a Sonny and Cher concert followed the next night by Ike and Tina Turner at the Starlight Theater in Swope Park. Guess how long ago that was? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

You sure are right about the thin blood, this is our sixth winter down here and each year it gets colder and colder. This year we have only run the air conditioner on two occasions and the first was to check to make sure that everything worked correctly after having it replaced last summer. The weather may be a little wetter here this year as this week we have had over two inches of rain.
