I have an old spring tine harrow that is 6' wide with 2 rows of sweeps. I removed rear row of sweeps because too much plant debris was getting caught between them. The sweeps I have now are double ended reversible chisel points, about 2-3 inches wide by maybe 9 inches long. They dig well but tend to go deeper than necessary, bringing up too many rocks that are 6-8 inches deep. I've seen replacement sweeps for those harrows that are more triangular and much wider than mine. I think those would not tend to penetrate as deeply and would turn over more of the surface several inches of dirt. That would suit me fine. Just not sure where I saw them to try to order right sizes. Any thoughts??

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't realize the variety of sweeps available. Any thoughts on how wide a sweep might be practical to use in single row 4 tine harrow behing NH TC40DA?? I was thinking 8-10" would work??

'Here' those would be called a field cultivator, I know it depens what region of the country you are in. Just in case I start calling it cultivator later on... 
For shovels you now have points, and you are looking to get sweeps.
The sweeps come in different angles, you want the sweep to have the bottom flat (fore to aft) when in the ground, have to check out what you need, not just width.
Having worked with both types of shovels, it will not matter. Both types suck into the ground. You need gauge wheels or keep the 3pt at the correct depth (which doesn't work well on rough ground).
