Whoa Len, I usually would not dispute anything you post but I have a 1450 with the small stub pto but it turns clockwise.

not changing the subject, but i have a chance to buy a satoh s-470 tractor with a woods finishing mower & a box blade attachment, the tractor needs a water pump & possibly a starter, i don't know much about these tractors, does a thousand dollars sound to much ?

the pump and starter can be sent out to A & T Parts & Rebuilders you can get a quote from them before you send.
