Satoh ST2340
Hello All.
New to forum. Just bought a st2340 with a Kabota loader on from end. It had an external pto driven hydro pump on rear of tractor.
I could not use 3pT with pump on tractor. So I machined a new block for bottom of brand new gear driven pump on engine, made a complete feed line to side of trans housing. I threaded hose into the bottom of the new block which is sharing the rear 3pt fluid. Loader will not operate nor will the 3pt. I'm guessing the pump will not supply enough pressure to operate both or am I missing something? Do I need to install a higher pressure bypass valve in the 3pt valve? Any help would be great. For right now I made a bracket and running pump off belt on engine which works until you stress pump and belt slips.

I don't think you know much about hydraulics hence the problem. This is not meant as an insult but just to clarify how your post comes across.

The tractor would have its own internal pump for the 3 pt hitch so why interfere with that existing arrangement.

You are probably dead heading the new pump and they only thing saving you from disaster is a V belt which slips.

With hydraulics, you cannot be "lets try and see what happens," type as you risk destruction of very expensive parts in a second.

Post some photos so your situation is clearer.

I should have said a little more in my original post. I assume the "new gear driven pump" is an OEM unit that drives off of the gears on front of motor?
Curious what pump you are belt driving right now. Is it the New (OEM) pump?
The factory pump is probably 3-4 GPM at around 2000psi. If working correctly, more than enough to supply the 3 pt or loader if cycled independently.
As far as the 3 pt bypass, it is possible there could be a piece of crud holding open.
A good place to start diagnosing the issue would be to plumb a 0-3000 psi gauge in one of the loader's hydraulic circuits and see what pressure you are getting.

On edit: one more thing, check the FEL control valve for a relief/bypass valve and if it is stuck open.

Thanks for the reply. I just received a aluminum aux block from valley power. Installed the block as per Valley and still no loader. The 3 pt works fine. The pump is brand new OE pump. According to VP it has more than enough to run both. I am stumped

Pump is flowing to the FEL valve and the only return oil is when using lower or return valve . I am guessing there is a hydraulic leak in the system some place
