I have a GC 1705 with the heavy hitch. I also have a small 2-wheel utility trailer that I'd like to be able to pull behind it as a hay ride at a birthday party.

I know there are risks with pulling a trailer like this -specifically that the hitch can raise up.

What are the ways I can stabilize the hitch so it's not an issue? I don't have any steep ground I'd be going over.

Thanks!

Use the "drawbar" and eliminate any issues. Drawbar in quotes because that tractor appears to have a non-movable pin-type hitch (similar to my garden tractor) from the pictures that I can see.

If you're talking about using a 3pt drawbar that goes between the lift arms then you can run bracing bars from the lift arms to the top link connector to keep the arms from lifting. We used a similar set-up on the 8N for years before we bought the chassis mounted draw bar assembly.

Clearest picture I could find was off another forum so I had to pull it and host it here.
