Stained Concrete

There is a co. in Arkansas called Rare Earth labs. that I dealt with about 5 years ago. The guy (owner) is chemical engineer that makes his own acid stain in a concetrated form. I did my own acid stain on a new construction at that time and have had nothing but positive comments on everyone that has seen the floors. He also has a test kit with small bottles of all the stains. The web site is the same as the name without any spaces. It was the best staining product and procedure that I could find at that time (in 2001).

Boss,

I've done our basement, but it was new concrete that was fully protected from oil, grease and adhesives. It is critical that your floor be clean. It needs to be perfectly clean. -You can definitely do it as long as the prep work is done. You basically just spray it on and wipe it off. Read the directions and follow them exactly. If you don't have a good concrete surface, you should be able to grind off the top surface to get what you need. If done properly you can have a really nice floor.

There is a tool that works wonders removing old tile and wood flooring. I bought one off ebay, because it was close (150 miles) and cheap. My sister in law picked it up for me when she was over there.
Basically it is a 110 motor with a ecentric that raises and lowers a flat blade, many times a minute. There is a weight on the front that gives some weight to it, to keep it in contact with the floor. Works great, as I took the wood floor up in my mothers den in about 30 minutes. They had about 4 hours invested in a 3' square. I did the rest (16x24 room) and was knocking up the wood strips faster than they could shovel them into trash bins. (3 people trying to move the loose boards, one machine taking them up.
The machine is called "The Stripper"

I'd like to see a picture of "The Stripper"

Seriously! It sounds like a useful device. Is that a brandname, or the name of the type of equipment?

Thanks.
