When you turn the key switch on, do you hear the fuel pump working?

What I would do if I were you is make sure both fuel filters are replaced.Just prior to hooking up the line to filter underneath, use air compressor and blowgun to blow air back into the tank to clear the line. (make sure the fuel cap is off!) . this would ensure clear lines to the first filter. If anything was growing in fuel, It would be more likely to be in the tank clogging up the outlet line.
