Stalling Problem B2630

Kubota B2630

Tried Cleaning fuel filter. Drained tank and put in fresh fuel with diesel conditioner. Changed air filter.

It stalls mainly in low rpm while just starting to pressing the fwd or Rev pedal (hydrostatic drive). But it will do it while in full throttle and while the fwd/rev pedal has been pressed for a while. Seams to save it from stalling if put back into neutral before the engine stops spinning. a small black cloud will form and it will run again.

Sounds like your seat safety switch to me. Are you on the light side? Does it do it more often when backing up a hill? You could temporarily jumpper it to see if the issue resolves.

I weigh about 190#. The Fuel cut off is what is causing it. I put a safety pin through the pos wire that goes to the fuel cutoff/on solenoid. I then put a jumper wire to the pos term on the battery. It never stalled.

I did check the seat switch.

with no jumper it stalls constantly. Could be 5 times in a minute. It used to be one or twice an hour.

What would de-energize the fuel solenoid? I thought of Seat, oil pres, or over temp; but haven't tested the oil or temp sensors yet.

Does it stall when it is in neutral, or just standing ( not moving) .,,,,reason I ask, is that the fuel pump ,if the safeties are bypassed will easily produce enough pressure to idle the engine, it's when you put a load on it ( engine) your fuel volumes are drastically increased. And that's where the safety would step in and shut down the engine


Had a Cummins with a bad lift pump, would idle fine but when the go pedal aaas depressed fuel pressure would drop to zero and the cutoff would step in

Difficult issue with many variables to consider

On my B series the seat switch works only when PTO is on, or when the hydrostatic pedal is depressed

Can you jump out the seat switch?, to confirm it' s not that, could also be the switch on the hydro pedals? Jump them out one at a time.

I'm glad my large frame Kubota's only have a buzzer that indicates no operator prescence. Lots of times I need to operate the PTO when no one is aboard, like grain legs.

You can run the PTO while off the tractor on the smaller Kubotas - just have to flip the seat up or in some cases, put the seat in the backhoe position, to use the rear PTO.
