Standard Equipment on JD5303 Question

I purchased my JD5303 new in the spring of 2007. While it was on the lot, I would almost swear that it had a set of rear SCVs. I had the dealer install a 512 FEL, and when it was delivered, there were no longer any SCVs on the rear. I chalked it up to my being mistaken, but I went to price what it would cost to have them added now, and it was quoted to be over $500. I also checked out the JD website and on the new model 5303, they are listed as standard.

My question is: Does anyone know if this was standard equipment on these tractors or am I mistaken about them having been there, and what recourse do I have at this point when talking to the dealer?

My 2006 model 5203 did not have the rear scv standard. I had the dealer add the loader scv's for the 512 FEL and 1 rear scv.

KB9UDE--Thanks for the quick response. Any chance that you could post a picture of how they added them to your setup? Especially where the control lever and hydraulic hoses mount on the right side under the seat above the axle? Just curious on if the setup I was quoted is correct. Took the guy forever. Don't get me wrong, he was very helpful, and I am appreciative, but he was not certain about a few things that a picture could help clear up.

I have a 5403 bought in 2007. It did not come with any SCV's, of course the loader did come with a set. I asked about the rears and they quoted me $500. So your dealer looks about the same as mine. I hope that helps.

2005 5203. came with no rear remote-added one set. two rears not available if you have a loader. I think that is still the case with the 2007 model, but am not certain. Little under 500 bucks is what I paid to add the one set. Added a Fassee doubler to operate a Belltec PHD for another 500 bucks.

Am in the process of upgrading to a 5325--this time I am going to get 3 rears and not have to worry about it.

John--Thanks for the pictures they are just what I needed. Looks like the same kit recommended to me.

I certainly appreciate all the other posters as well. This forum is such a great source of information.

I shall go ahead and order the SCV kit. Once I get it done, I won't have to borrow a tractor to get my hay put up.

Interesting as my 2008 5103 came with 1 set of rear SCV's.

I added the lights, block heater, 3rd scv.
