I am thinking about buying a 7000 watt generac standby generator. Anyone have one of these? Do I need to run a seperate line to my 500gallon propane tank, or can I use the one coming to my house now.

gutterman, there have been several recent threads about this topic lately, including one that included the use of propane as a fuel. Here is a Search is the quickest path to knowledge. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

it is not just the generator that will need fuel but the furnace and other gas appliances. so you need to figure out what you are running on the line from the tank , then decide what you have to do to supply enough gas to all the devices you wish to operate. i found these folks helpfull as they have been doing conversions for quite a while. check out this web site and e mail them your questions about generator hookup and line size.
