Hi all after finding some issues with stone coated metal shingles(http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/rural-living/238303-stone-coated-metal-shingles.html) we decided to go with a standing seam roof. The previous link shows pictures of our roof.
1. its a 10/12 pitch (a-frame)
2. we have 3 skylights but are going to get them removed
3. full tear off
4. 20 square
I have been talking to different people and I recieved some information that I need some help with.
They use 26 gauge Advantage-Lok Standing Seam Metal Roofing Panels - Standing Seam Metal Roof Panels - Union Corrugating from union corrugating gavalume(we do want green). They said they use instead of diamond deck/ice and water dam a product that I had not heard of. They use insulbarrier, which seals, provides a 10.4 r value and allows the metal to have an air space. (i think this is the product but i am not 100% surehttp://www.insulationsolutions.com/content/pdfs/insul-barrier/insulbarrier-4x9_(1-27).pdf)
Anyone hear of this before? Anyone use this product before? I am zone 5b gets to a low of -15/-10.
They would also put in snow diverters.
