Hi all after finding some issues with stone coated metal shingles(http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/rural-living/238303-stone-coated-metal-shingles.html) we decided to go with a standing seam roof. The previous link shows pictures of our roof.
1. its a 10/12 pitch (a-frame)
2. we have 3 skylights but are going to get them removed
3. full tear off
4. 20 square

I have been talking to different people and I recieved some information that I need some help with.
They use 26 gauge Advantage-Lok Standing Seam Metal Roofing Panels - Standing Seam Metal Roof Panels - Union Corrugating from union corrugating gavalume(we do want green). They said they use instead of diamond deck/ice and water dam a product that I had not heard of. They use insulbarrier, which seals, provides a 10.4 r value and allows the metal to have an air space. (i think this is the product but i am not 100% surehttp://www.insulationsolutions.com/content/pdfs/insul-barrier/insulbarrier-4x9_(1-27).pdf)
Anyone hear of this before? Anyone use this product before? I am zone 5b gets to a low of -15/-10.
They would also put in snow diverters.

Not sure what your question is. The insulbarrier is a foundation product. Are they going to put it on the roof? Compressing it will remove most of the r value. If the contractor is worried about framing irregularities printing through the metal, a product like this would be a better choice:

Lock seam roofing is great stuff. Metal roofs leak at the fasteners, and concealed fasteners completely avoid the problem.

You can have skylights if you want. It will require a little custom flashing, but it can be done if your contractor knows what he is doing. You are going to have roof penetrations anyway, for plumbing vents. Most people install continuous ridge ventilation to avoid vent cans.

In your climate, are you sure you want gutters? As you are aware, gutters in snow country normally end up on the ground. A healthy roof overhang is the normal solution.

Larry that must be the type of product they are going to use. The person I talked to will be going on vacation until next monday so I cant clarify the actual product.
Skylights in our bedroom are so bright that on full moon nights its like daytime when you are trying to sleep.
Not sure about the gutters, how would the roof overhang be covered would they have to expand the decking or just the roof product.
There is no question that I want the concealed fastners I dont want to have to worry about the roof again.
