I'm wondering how much my Bx2200 can take. I have had it a year now. helped dig a basement with it blow snow, cut lawns, drag trees out of the woods with it, lifting anything in the bucket that it will lift, backbladeing ect. Just wondering if I'm asking to much of this machine. Maybe I should have gone with the B's instead. any comments. ? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Choc,

I got my BX2200 this summer and plan to start a part time biz with it doing light dirt work, tilling, post hole digging, etc. I expect to wear this machine out, but doubt that it will before 10 or more years!

From what I've seen / read, if you keep it to what it was designed to do and don't overstress it too much, it should last a long time. Proper maintenance is essential, but that's with any machine.

In reality, my kids will probably inherit it or take the keys away from me when I'm too senile to operate it anymore.....

Take Care,
Ron

Yep, if you want to do all those things a little bit faster, but if you've got more time than money (like me), that little tractor ought to do the job for many years. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'm figuring that I'll average 125 hours per year what with lawn, snow, and tree work around my place. At that rate, I better put the thing in my will because it will outlive me. I retired after 30+ years....let's see just that job was 30*2080hrs per year or over 60,000 hours...sure wish I had kept my personal maintenence up as well as the tractor!
Of course, if a new tractor were to find its way to my house that would be OK.

The local nursery guys around here use their machines 7AM-5PM every day, 5-6 days a year. Some of their machines are at least 10 years old. If you maintain a Kubota, it will probably last longer than a good Ford pick up-and that is a long time!

Well, it's already done everything you asked it to so I'd say it's fine for what you need. These things are made to work hard! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Of course, If you weren't able to get it to do everything you wanted then maybe a bigger unit would have been better.
