i am in the process of making a new area for our ducks and as most folks know ducks love water. we have some kiddie pools that we fill for them currently, however, we want to make a more permanant area for them and have decided to fence off a section of land with a depression that naturally fills with water in the winter (and sometimes spring and fall).. soo to that end i decided to use the natural depression as a starting point and have dug around to make an area which is about 25x20 bank to bank and about 24-30" deep in the middle. there is some nice clay at this depth but something tells me i am going to potentially need a liner to make water stay in here during the summer months. soo, what do the experts say, any recommendations for staying within budget (as little as possible) AND keep water in this thing.. here are some pics of the progress so far.. of course the goats were curious what the heck i was doing to the area they just cleared so i had to snap a pic of them too!
