Started to fab my grapple.

This is what I've done so far. Doesn't look like much yet but I hope to have it close to finish by the end of next week. I also have the hydraulic piston. Its a 8" stroke 1.5" dia. I'll post pics of it soon. I still need to buy a spool valve.

Update:

I tig welded some 3/8" thick spacers for the pivot points, trying to beef it up. I'm not very happy with the quality of the weld. Tig welding is hard and i'm still new at it, plus our welder is isn't the greatest. Its an old arc welder converted to tig. (no foot peda) I wish I used the mig.

It looks pretty good to me, but I am not a welder... If it was being made for me I would be happy with what I see, until it broke, then I would ask don't you know what you are doing, lol.
