Well so much for my theory that those that have had trouble at the battery end might have it at the starter also. Wondered if the acid might have "wicked" all the way to the starter, but I guess not. Anyway, glad to hear yours is not the case. Haven't fixed mine yet. The weather's been too nice up here and I been out logging and hogging. Was a beautiful fall weekend in the low 70's and it's hitting the low 80's now. ...something like 20 degrees above normal for this time in southern Mich.

I just checked my battery and both terminals were covered with corrosion. The positive side is so bad the bolt is almost gone in the middle. I didn't notice anything at the starter end. I always keep my Boomer garaged and dry and only wash it 3 or 4 times a year.

Danny, not sure if it applies to the 29D but on the bigger tractors there's a problem with battery acid leaking or being sucked out by the fan. Make sure you don't have that problem. On mine it was obvious as the radiator and some hydraulic hoses were all corroded.
