Dumb question on starting a Deere 4610
My operator's manual isn't real clear about this. The tractor has a Yanmar diesel in it. I know glow plugs are supposed to be warmed up before attempting to start. The warm function on this ignition is to push the key in.
My questions are: (1)How long should I hold the key in "warming"? Does the indicator light go out when the plugs are sufficiently warm? I've never held it long enough to know, because I was afraid of burning something out. (2) should I hold the key pushed in "warming" while turning, to start the engine?
Thanks
Kurt
