having starting problems the glow plug indicator works for about 10 to 12 seconds then goes dim. when I try to start black smoke pours out exhaust. I have heated the motor it is inside my shop. I drained the old fuel out bleed air out and checked the injectors they have a good spray pattern. if I try to heat the glow plugs again the indicator is dim red if I wait 5 minutes the glow plug will burn bright red for 10 seconds?

I think I would separate the individual glow plugs by removing the connecting wires or bar. Then, using an ohm meter test the resistance of each, then compare readings. that might tell you something.

The specification on the glow plugs in my MT372 (KE70 engine), is a resistance of 1-1.2 ohms at "room temperature". I put fresh glow plugs in this past spring and the improvement was noticeable.

The glow plug circuit is very sensitive to resistance, i.e. a little corrosion anywhere in the wires/connections (higher resistance), the current drops, the heat output is less, and the glow indicator won't glow. I've had luck cleaning all the wired connections, removing the glow plugs and cleaning the threads carefully with a wire brush, and reassembling. You can also check the resistance of each plug while you have it out. Good luck!

Black smoke indicates a clog somewhere in the filter or intake.

I have checked the intake took off the breather hose at the 90 degree inlet looks clean. I drained all the fuel out installed new fuel filter and lines bleed injectors (turning motor over with glow plugs out) checked resistance with meter 1.6 to 1.7.reinstalled same thing the new fuel is rated at 40 creatine level. the smoke comes out in varying amounts at different throttle ranges. smoke is black and covers everything with a black oily film. while I had the glow plugs out I hooked to battery they burn bright red for as long as the battery is hooked 20 t0 40 seconds. still not starting?

Maybe a compression test would be in order. Oops, I see on the other thread you've already done that.

I have the s370 running had to pull it with my lawn mower while turning the starter. it smoked sputtered for a while let it run and road around for about an hour. it started up while hot will let cool off and see how it starts. just happy to see it run after all the work I did.
