I like the range hood idea. I could do welding under the hood too. An arc welder cooks a hotdog real fast, but you have to put it in the bun before you start or when it explodes, it gets all over everything and then pretty soon you have dog slobber all over everything too. Don't ask me how I know this.
Well, I actually don't know this, but if someone who owns a dog and a welder would like to try cooking a hotdog with their welder, let us all know what happens and if the dog does a good job of cleaning it all up.

So here's what I did. I got eight feet of hot-water-heater hose, and a 1" to 1/2" copper converter (regular copper water pipe). I pushed the hose over the 1/2 inch(ID) end of the copper and pushed the 1" (ID) end of the copper over the exaust. It fit like it was made for the job.
I had to run the tractor for more than ten minutes while I was getting my back hoe back on, but all the fumes were exausted outside. It worked surprisingly well.
The tractor's new home has windows on all sides, so it won't be as much of a problem now, but I don't like messing with CO, so I may use it sometimes anyway.

It's not strange at all that the new Kubotas release little diesel smoke. The engines are so sophisticated and well-engineered that they run extremely clean. My previous tractor, a NH 3930, was just the opposite. It would bellow smoke at startup and continue through warmup and operation. It was kind of cool to see the black smoke pumping out under load, but I like my new Kubota L3430 much better. It's not a problem at all starting inside my enclosed workshop.
Some like to criticize the "big three" as all name at a higher price. Here's a real example of advanced engineering that comes with a market leader.

I have to agree, my L3830 puts out a puff on start up but even in my relatively small shop, there are not any diesel smelling fumes to speak of. My International is a different sttory and quite frankly I'm sure if I ran it for 5 minutes in there, it would kill every wasp, spider, silverfish alive. I truly am amazed at just how clean the L3830 and I assume most other Kubotas burn.

A friend of mine who owns a Bobcat dealership told me that in the past they had to put "scrubber mufflers" on the diesel engines so farmers could use them indoors in animal operations. The new machines with Kubota engines no longer require any kind of modification.

just another thought on your fumes.
I have been told by customers that if you activate the preheat for a minute before starting, the fumes are decreased substantially. You have to have the key in the start (crank) postion for the preheater to work on the 4110. I tell my customers to engage the pto or put the shift lever in gear, then turn the key to the start position for 30 seconds or so. They tell me that when they do that, it starts much easier, and doesn't smoke up the garage nearly as much.
But, it looks like you have a vent now anyways.
