Went to my LWS store to buy a 1/4in 2' by 4' mild steel plate for some misc projects. Holy Cow! Prices have jumped!!! On average the counter guy was saying 50 to 70%. Especially expanded metal sheets for some reason. Anyone else feeling the pain?

Looks like the government may be the only one able to afford to buy steel pretty soon, them and maby the oil companies. It's probably going to put any small fab shops that survived the ression out of business.

The dealer that just sold me my new trailer said the exact same trailer that he has coming in soon is going to be $ 1200 more than what I paid for mine. Also, most of the new tractor implements around here have gone up around $ 200 to $ 500 in price. My new Woods BB72X was $ 300 more than what the price was last year.

I went to buy some 2-1/4 inch diamond toolbar stock, and the price was outrageous. This was only two days ! after Trump announced steel tariffs, and clearly the vendor was just marking up the price of his old stock to make a quick windfall.

Yes, I would be surprised that any tariff would be affecting steel already purchased by dealers. Bought and paid for... just middlemen taking advantage of small consumers.

Steel isn't the only thing....check the lumber prices.

Yep, no different than when oil prices take a jump. Old stocks of diesel fuel and gasoline automatically shoot up as well. But they are sure slow to lower their prices when oil prices drop.

Even with the tarriffs it shouldn't jump 50 - 70%, simply price gouging I would say.

Well it's the tariffs that prompted it. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB
