I'm rebuilding the steering box for my used (25+/- year old) Kubota I recently bought. The lower bearing in the steering box is busted, which caused the "ball assembly" that rides on the steering shaft to get damaged. The only things that got damaged are the small pieces of bent sheet metal that recirculate the ball bearings into the ball assembly. These pieces apparently are not available; I'm told I have to buy the complete $150 ball assembly. Has anyone had to deal with this and are these pieces available without buying the whole assembly? Thanks.

I dont have the information you are seeking, but I couldnt help to notice that the B8200D that you are requestion information about is the Kubota that is supposively the cross over for a grey market tractor that I have, which is the Kubota B1600dt. The model # for the engine is next to the fuel injectors on the right side of the tractor if sitting in the seat. It is KT2 D89 with four numbers at the very end 1902. I was wondering if you could verify if the B8200d is in fact the same engine cross over for parts?

If you can't easily find the part used, I'd bite the bullet and get the new ball assembly and bearing (while it's still available). Chances are there's more damage than meets the eye if the bottom bearing went out. Usually the upper one gets less lubricant and dies first...

I may have the pitman arm... I had a B8200 that I installed a power steering kit on years ago, and kept the arm. If you still need it, I can look and take a photo to make sure we are talking about the right piece. Send me a PM if you want.

The power steering was a Kubota kit, no longer available (for many years) but the original steering box was used- this was a new hydraulic link, with a proportioning (?) valve and hoses, etc. The hydraulic link replaced the pitman arm. I found a couple of old photos showing this...
