YM2000
Hello, all, thanks for such a great place! I've got a YM2000 with the front driver's side wheel turned out about 20 degrees when I went sideways in a ditch. I've loosened the nut on the spindle the tire swivels on, but can't figure out how to get that tire back in alignment. Am I just not putting enough pressure on the wheel or is there something else I need to do to make the adjustment? Thanks again for any advice.

There are parts manuals on pages 3 & 4 for your YM2000. They are added as attachments to each post where available.

The YM2000 came is 3 generations plus an odd YMG2000 generation that is far different.
On the engine plate or body plate, does it read YM2000A or YM2000A-A?

Grab those parts manuals, look them over and see how the front axle it put together. The diagrams are a huge help.

Is the tie rod (side to side) bent?
No, not at all. It's just like I torqued the wheel just enough to make it turn in the shaft. Everything looks normal otherwise.

After more research, thanks to your manuals, I've got my question more refined: How do I separate the spindle from the front axle assembly? I'm thinking of applying some heat to the crossbar to get it to expand enough to release the spindle. I'm pretty sure at this point that I've sheared the woodruff key inside the spindle. That's going to be a jammed in spindle.

Careful with the heat, there is grease in there. Do not have a grease fire on your hands.

Take the wheel off, makes for easy access.

Silvercoal are you sure it's not the right side where the woodruff key got stripped? That left side steering knuckle seems to still be a reasonable distance from the tire.

I just went out and looked at my YM240. The left front tire clearance to the steering knuckle is same as in your photo above. I would expect your tire to be scraping the knuckle, if the damage were on the side you photographed.

Good thought.

So, lifting up the front axle getting the wheels off the ground and seeing what side has all the play.
