Hi

I'm having trouble getting the steering to work on a 580ck.

Have the pump is out and so far looks okay. The filter is shot.

First thing; Is how do I get the gears out of the pump, to see if there any wear?

I'm going to replace all the o-rings and seal while I'm at it.

How do I set the relief value?

I have a couple of online picture of the system but none show both cylinder for the front in the system. I keep reading about lines being miss connected.

Front end Off the ground or on it has very little movement more like none, but does try to move some.

Thanks !!

Teddy

Teddy,
You don't want to take the gears out of the pump to check for wear.
The wear you're looking for is between the tooth of the gear and the housing of the pump. There should be almost NO clearance there. The oil is trapped in the cavity between the teeth on the gears and the pump housing. The more clearance between the apex of the gear tooth and the pump housing, the more oil escapes, thus the lower the pressure and in some cases the lower the flow.
