Maybe all Yanmars are this way, but I thought I'd ask. To turn lock to lock on my 1500D, I have to spin the wheel a dozen or so times. It's like driving a semi. Being geared down like that will be nice when I get a loader, power steering will not be required. But the rest of the time it gets to be a pain.

I'm just curious if most are like this, and is there is a gearbox from a different model, with a different ratio that would fit. Thanks

Ditto on the knob. I don't think my FX24D is more than 3 turns lock to lock. Maybe even less.

I was out using my 1500D today and remembered this message so I thought I would count the turns of the steering wheel on mine. Exactly 3 turns lock to lock on my 1500D.
