Steiner S-20
Hi I recently acquired an older Steiner S-20, I believe it is a 1987. I am currently in the process of restoring and I have run into the issue that my front lift will only operate in one direction. It will only lift and will not press down. In fact, to get it to lower I have to hold the switch down and stand on the front fork to get it to go down. I believe it “floats” just fine but it will not push down and lift the front tires off the ground when the blade or deck is attached. Does anyone know if this is an issue with the hydraulic lift cylinder or the switch? I have read about the switches going bad and kicking out of the float position but mine seems to stick in float just fine.

What switches? don't they use a lever?...... we are talking about hydraulics right?...... a valve maybe stuck, it should be up down and then float...... jim
