A search on this subject didn't find anything helpful. Has anyone made a bolt-on attachment to fit onto/over an existing rear scraper blade? Because the blade is the most used item, a removable attachment would mean not having to change implements just to tidy up the scrub around the house where the blade itself would be too aggressive.

Any suggestions welcome

Would something like a "Ratchet Rake" work? They may have too short of teeth if you have soft ground.

Good idea, I like finding new uses for the Ratchet Rake.

Widest Ratchet Rake I've seen is the 72" model, so if
your blade is wider than that it won't cover the full width.

It could slip over the cutting edge of a scrape blade,
you'd have to work out your own methid of securing
it as I don't think the included cables and ratchet straps
will work.

There are two sets of teeth on the rake, but the way it
mounts on a bucket I think you would only be able to
make use of one of them unless you were able to angle
the rake far enough to bring the other set of teeth
into play.

Thanks Guys

Found images of the ratchet rake but I'd prefer longer tynes like those in the attached images. Maybe if I weld up a steel bar with standard tynes bolted to it, the mounting arrangement used for the ratchet rake could work. Alternatively, maybe those two bolts at each end of the blade that secure the hardened blade to the frame could be used to secure the new bar if it is fabricated to fit around the wider part.

I'll draw something up and probably make a scrap timber pattern before going further but please don't hesitate to make further suggestions

Regards

Alan

Something like this. The only problem I can foresee is that the bar will bend when pressure comes onto the tynes so it will probably need reinforcing with additional braces OR I'll make it out of 6" X 2" channel
