Hey all, I'm new here and looking for some help/advice. I have a jd 955 with what seems to be a sticky scv for the curl/dump loader control. I've read some other threads relating to this but wondering if anyone had some new experience/advice on what to do next. Issue is when I engage loader curl or dump action the scv it will not return to neutral on it own. I'm constantly fighting the valve back and forth to get the bucket where I want it. Only when the bucket is fully dumped or curled will the valve spring back into neutral. Takes quite a bit of force to move the control handle anywhere in between lock and lock.

Here is what I've done this far.

Removed the detent spring and housing and cleaned. Everything was cleaned and greased. Reinstalled with no change.

Removed scv and disassembled. Spool seems to move freely with maybe slight binding but nothing the spring wouldn't overcome. Cleaned spool and valve body although everything looked brand new. No rust/tarnishing/pitting... Nothing. Everything looks great. Reassembled the valve with new seals and o rings. Moving the valve on the bench feels great, everything moves smoothly and doesn't bind. Job done right? Wrong!

I reinstalled the valve into the tractor and changed fluid and filter. Start it up and the valve still sticks. Maybe worse than before. The linkage is loose and not binding. I'm wondering if the linkage is to loose.? Has anyone had a similar issue that was solved by rebuilding the linkage controls? Am I missing something? Love this tractor but this sticking is reuining it for me. Please help

Mountingplate should be a thin plate that will bend to the form of the controlvalve and not the otherway round

Not sure I'm following you. I think the four bolts that fasten the valves bolts directly into the rockshaft control. No nuts. Seeing in manual now recommend tighten to 12ft/lb. wow pretty sure I'm closer to 120😬. Great advice thanks again.
