Stihl EB600 or RedMax EBZ8050

my personal experience is that the RedMax will out blow the Stihl BR 600 blower... THAT is a FACT. Two other friends who are in the landscaping business have had the same experience...THAT is a FACT..

No, that is YOUR opinion, not a fact. A "fact" is hard data such as tested CFM exiting the tube at a measured MPH. Both blow at approximately the same MPH but the Stihl delivers more CFM at that speed. That is what is known as a fact. That means it moves more air, fact. You personally like the RedMax more; your opinion. I personally like the lighter weight and more powerful blowing force from the Stihl. I owned a landscaping business. I take about zero stock in what most say about equipment. Most buy based on price and are here today and gone tomorrow. Opinions are what most people give here. Besides, even before I posted my first post in this thread with FACTS, the original poster had already purchased the Stihl and seems well pleased with it. I'm certain it will serve him well. Still, you seem to confuse tested FACT with YOUR opinion. There is a difference.

Dargo - I have no intention of getting into a protracted argument with you over such a trivial issue. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, as well as your argument regarding the semantics of the word "facts". I have owned and run a successful landscape maintenance business for the last 21 years. I was also an engineering manager at a major US Corporation until my retirement 7 years ago, and I'm quite familiar with the physics of air flow. You seem to be confusing manufacturer's listed specs with "tested facts" (it's no secret that manufacturer's tests can be skewed in self serving ways). In my "real world testing" when my Stihl 600 blows a large pile of leaves to the point that they will no longer move, and I can then take my RedMax 8001 and continue to move that same pile of leaves with ease, then the RedMax is a more powerful blower... that is not my opinion... that is a fact which I have seen repeatedly.

When making a purchasing decision, I would much rather utilize the real world experiences of people who use these blowers on a daily basis rather than rely on the various manufaturer's test specs. A quick search on lawnsite.com regarding this subject will show that the majority of professional users feel the RedMax 8001 beats out the Stihl BR600 in power, but it is uncomfortably heavy compared to the Stihl... exactly what I said in my original post.

I am also sure that the OP will be very pleased with the Stihl... as I originally stated it is my favorite blower for the majority of the year... very powerful and comfortable to use. I only use the RedMax during the fall leaf season when the additional blowing power is needed.

I bought Redmax. I use to borrow my neighbor's. He sells Stihl and because of that badmouths all other brands. When ever I used it it was hard to start, would die as if it were out of gas when it still had 1/2 tank and would be covered in exhausted oil. My Redmax starts on first or second pull, runs all day, no oil residue. I use to use his Stihl string trimmer also, difficult starting. I bought Shindaiwa, starts right up, only problem I've had with it is on 90+ degree days where after an hour of trimming it would overheat. It did that the first year but hasn't in last two years.

I bought a RedMax EBZ-7500RH in the early spring and it's been a pleasure to own. Starts on the first pull, runs smooth and really gets the job done.

When my 8-year old Tanaka bit the dust (no compression) I bought a RedMax trimmer. No difference in performance. I got rid of the bump feeder and use one of those fast load heads that use 16" lengths of string. I use 0.155" string rather than the 0.090" stuff that comes with most trimmers. I have 10 acres with 1/2 mile of fenceline and ditch to maintain. So I work my trimmer very hard.

I was all set to buy a RedMax trimmer, as the dealer who sold me the blower offered me a great deal on one. But then I found the deal on the Tanaka I ended up with. I got it for less than the RedMax would have cost and it's 31cc vs 21cc.

Interesting. I looked at both, tried both, and the Stihl puts out more CFM at the same speed from the end of the tube. Statistics and facts seem to show that it's only your opinion, not fact, that the RedMax will blow more. The facts show the opposite. I bought the Stihl BR600 and haven't looked back. Nothing personal, but facts mean more to me than opinions.

Dont believe everything that the company thats trying to take your money says. Companies can make there machines spec high on test but dont work so well in real life, or just lie.
And where one company might under rate there figures, another might over rate. Happens all the time
