I have discovered that Stilh offers a pole saw attachment that can be added to some of their string trimmer models. I know your reach would be compromised but has anyone tried this attachment and how did it work out.

My FS 85R works very well with the Pole Pruner Attachment. It has run very well. The only complaint is that I wish I had the 11.5-foot HT 75 Pole Pruner. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Ditto to Ron H's comment. Paid about $189 for the FS85 saw attachment and it works very well but wish it was longer. I had pretty much maxed out on toys for the year and felt fortunate to slip the attachment in. No way the wife would have OK'd a $600 pruner. Dad bought the electric (remington?) at home depot and after exchanging the first one which was defective I think he has been happy. I'm anxious to try his longer pole out because I don't like ladders. Also try a search as there was an extensive discussion on this subject not long ago.

I have the Remington but I need to replace the saw. They break if you have to chunk 'em. The pole is still good, though. Too bad they don't make the saw out of the same stuff they make the pole from.

thanks for the info. Those 10 or 11 foot pole saws would be nice but $600 to $700 is just a little to steep for me. My ods of getting $179 approved by the wife is much greater. I guess this would be the only time you could say the wife would disagree that longer is better. Ha....
