I wanted to move dirt today but had to mow instead. Mowed most of this last week but it needed it again.
Of course I had a flat drive tire on newest F3680 (105 hrs) and have not had time to replace the leaking hose on the oldest F3680 (996 hrs) Will have to get power to my new hanger. Had a portable air tank in the hanger to air it up enough to drive to an air compressor to top it off. Power company wanted $2600 for 2 wood poles and less than 300 ft of wire. I plan to get a generator for less than that. I only get out there at most 3 days a week.
Mowed for 4 hours with out a noticeable loss of pressure. Still have more to cut but ran out of
time/daylight.
The run flat tires on the deck are holding up well.
I do not remember grass still growing this fast this late in the year.

I have found low tires on my Fs before and aired them up and then they haven't gone down again.:confused2: I've also plugged a couple of them over the years where a piece of wire on rental property would go thru one. Maybe your will be one of the not again leaks which can sometimes be worse than a find and fix.:D
I've also had to do the almost weekly mowing which for me is unheard of. I got behind on my rental property, maybe 3 weeks and thought I may have to bale it. It did slow down my F which is very rare.
I cut a big tractor truck mudflap and screwed it to the top of the discharge chute (area, not really a chute) on my rear discharge 72" deck to see if I could stop the cut grass from covering the bottom of my F. It did reduce it some but not a whole lot and it's leaving visible cut rows on my grass so plan to remove it since I prefer the spread out look of the cut grass and not as effective with keeping grass out from under F as I was hoping.
I'll have to mow a couple more times this year if we don't get snow soon.:D

Well, I see one advantage I have here. All my lawn is actually field grass that has been mowed - as if it were lawn - for 32+ years now. About mid July it all dries up and no amount of water will keep it green. So my mowing ended around mid July. You've got to LEARN to love tan fields around the house - ha,ha. The late fall wx will bring rain and the "grass" resprouts & greens back up before the snow comes.

2x a week for me. If I put out fertilizer and use one of these, I may be out there everyday!

I am mowing ground cover with grass mixed in. Your pattern of grass growth is also the norm around here. I mow at 3 1/2 inches tall to give the grass a chance when dry spells hit, also miss most of the rocks that also seem to grow every year. The people that cut lower go brown sooner and recover later.

Most of mine is also converted fields that I mow and don't lime or fertilize. Brother next door does it all and it looks like it when it's not a real dry summer. When it gets dry his turns brown and of course I have to comment about it to him.:D Mine (weeds and some grass) stays green year round unless it's severe drought but returns when it rains. I to mow high and also have several limestone growers that I clear 10 times then they start working on my blade(s) plus some sprout up over a week or two.:)
My neighbor had a mower problem for a couple of weeks and when he got it repaired the grass was to high just under the hill area where the water run off keeps it growing quick. He was trying to get thru it while man that had fixed his mower (Husqavarna) was standing there. I went over and told him I'd knock it down so he could mow it and did in just a few minutes going side ways across his steep hill and just flying around (it's called showing off in Ky). I got his high dark green part done and let him do the remow and his thin stuff.:D:cool2:
